Just thought I would check in and say that my Sierra is really doing great. Been doing live shows and sessions with it for about a year. For the first time in a long time....possibly forever...I can actually stand to listen to my playbacks from recordings...everything is in tune and the frequencies are really balanced. I think my confidence in the guitar has helped my playing. It does what I ask it to do with ease and accuracy. I'm using the Telonics x10....and I'm not even a humbucker guy! But it seems to be working for me. The sound engineers seem to like it as well.
Thanks again Ross Shafer for your contributions and innovations to the steel guitar community!

I got back home last night from the Dallas shindig. Ain't nothin' like home sweet home!
Big thanks to everyone who stopped by the Sierra table to say hi and check out the new generation of Sierra's. I'm so humbled and appreciative of the tons of compliments and positive comments these instruments recieved. I had a great time meeting and visiting with so many folks who's names are familiar on the forum.
Big kudos to the Talley's for putting on a great event....I think the waaaay awesome Navy Country Band should be a permanent fixture for the show. Really amazing! As were so many other performers. Thanks to all y'all!
Oh yeah, special thanks to Jim Palenscar, Michael Small and Daniel Neill for all their help with the show....Absolutely couldn't have pulled it off without you!
John: I remember seeing a Jackson steel with a sound chamber built into it at the Dallas show 4-5 years ago, but that's about it. Maybe I'll try nailing a board to the underside of my guitar to see if there's any magic to be had.
Dave Z: Don't discount all the helpful advice, input and inspiration I got from you from the very start of this project. Pulling this off without input from my local steel bros (you know who your are!), many others and the forum Bobby has given all of us, would've been far more difficult. Glad you're digging your Sierra so much. You gig a ton with it and I love knowing that it's such a reliable workhorse.
Johnny: A real pleasure to meet you and your wife. You and I could certainly sit and nerd out for quite a long time given the chance! You're doing some pretty cool stuff yourself, keep it up!
Any and all you forumites that might find yourself in Northern California are invited to stop in to see the shop, the guitars and my bitchin' little farm....just say YO!

Just did this for my iMac Mini. Good for drooling while working on e-mails.

Thanks for your kind compliment Jerry, I put my heart and soul into the design and production of these and am thrilled when the effort is recognized.
Hot dang, that sucker makes my back hurt to look at it! That's one rare Sierra for sure! Trade in eh? I'll run it up the flagpole with the boss, can't hurt to ask right?

I thought that might be why you posted that pic. While it's tempting to grow a fleet of awesome steels...I don't think there's many trades that'll be considered.
Would love to build a steel for someone as deep in steel nerd-dom as you! Its's good to know there other steel building/design/construction obsessives out there. Always good to know we're not alone right?

My Granny and Mark Twain said....
My Granny said "If you don't have anything good to say, just keep it to yourself".....Chris Schlotzhauer wrote:S10: $10,000
S12: $12,500..........I don't think so
Now that was some good advice!
“It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you in trouble...
It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” Mark Twain.
