Sho-Bud knee lever flag help

Post by Eric Philippsen »

I have a Super-Pro where I could sure benefit from adding a flag to the RKL lever that drops the E’s. Having one would make reaching that lever a lot easier.

It’s got the pot metal knee levers.

Any suggestions on adding a flag?

Thanks.

Get a 2" C-clamp at Lowes. I've been using one on my '74 Sho-Bud Pro 1 Left knee/left E's to F for twenty years. Hillbilly engineering. Paint silver to blend in.
Retired my "Flying Pro III" playin' gigs with the "little bud" in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.

I have a Fender Artist which uses straight levers same as the Super Pro. I made some fold down flags out of aluminum L stock in the Emmons style. They fold up against the lever for casing up and gives me all the area I need for my knee.

They can be purchased, but only in black, from Michael here:

Mullen sells flags that work well. You have to drill some holes in the levers, and then decide how to fix the flags to them. I found that the right size screw will self thread in the levers, even the newer aluminum ones from PSG Parts or elsewhere. I have three of them (all the right moving knees) on one of my Super Pros.
